It has been a long trip. I started writing this book 11 years ago, rewrote the book last March, and now it is just about ready. Depending on the speed I can get my preview copies from IngramSpark, I will shoot for a Halloween release. Since I’m not the slightest bit hopeful they will have a quick turn-around, I’m still shooting for mid to late November. I’ll have a set date when I see the physical copies for myself and approve them.
Then it will be time to let the book fly… or crash to the ground. Whatever happens, it has been a myriad of different learning experiences, and I will only further improve from here on. The Mark of Amulii is not a perfect book. I think my biggest mistake has been striving for perfection, knowing it will never completely satisfy me. However, I have worked incredibly hard on it, invested the time and money into it, and that’s really all I can do. The rest is luck.
Here is the low resolution preview of the cover. It’s not exactly how I pictured it in my head, but I think I like this better. The cover certainly makes me want to know what it’s about, and I suppose that’s all I can ask for. I think the artist did a fantastic job with my idea, still conveying that this book is a dark paranormal romance, but also setting apart from the rest. It’s both familiar and different, and that’s what I wanted.
